Tagetes lucida (Mexican Tarragon) is a beautiful bright green perennial herb from the Sierra Mandre Mountains of Mexico that is used by the local Indians, not only in the kitchen, but also recreationally. Mexican Tarragon has a very mild anise flavour and a sweet taste. In Mexico, it is traditionally used as a tea to calm stomachs, relax nerves and to alleviate the symptoms of a hangover. But it is also used as flavouring for harsh Turkish tobaccos. Tagetes lucida has been used since pre-Hispanic times. Many properties are ascribed to this plant. In the Nahuatl language it is known as yauhtli.
Voacanga africana is reportedly one of the guarded secrets of the African Magic Healers. Little is known about the actual use other than that the plant is held in high esteem for ritual and visionary purposes. Magicians reportedly ingest 50 seeds to gain visions, and the rootbark is used as a stimulant during hunts that often last for days. Not for human consumption. Sold strictly for cultivation.
For more info see: Leonotis leonurus contains marrubin and is commonly called Lion Tail because of its feathery gladiolus-like spiked flowers. The plant has had a long entheogenic and therapeutic tradition among the Hottentot tribesmen of South Africa. This 30x extract specially made for Pot Seeds gives a mellow stoned highOften used as a substitute for opium, Lactuca virosa does not match the power of opium nor does it upset the stomach like opium does. Commonly used as a mild sedative or hypnotic for insomnia and relaxation, it is also used for coughing, nervousness and pain relief associated with women's ailments. The greens are sometimes used in salads. Its use dates back as far as opium's use in the 16th century. The Native Americans used Lactuca Virosa as a mild relaxant and pain reliever. Though not as powerful as Opium, the whole plant is rich in a milky juice which contains opiate-like alkaloids. Wormwood is used to make absynthie, which is a beverage. Use 3 grams of the extract in one bottle of wine or liquor or whatever, and then wait 10 days or so until it dissolves. Stir daily and use just one glass for amazing effects. Alternatively, it can be mixed with alcohol. Let it soak for 10 days and drink shots with great care; the taste is very bitter. For relaxing you can make tea with a few grams. Black beans from these trees are toasted, pulverised and mixed with ashes, calcined shells or edible lime powder to make psychedelic snuff called yopo by Indians in Orinoco basin in Colombia, Venezuela and possibly in southern part of Brasilian Amazon. Yopo is blown into the nostrils through bamboo tubes or snuffed by birdbone tubes. The trees grow in open plain areas, and leaves, bark and seeds contain DMT, 5-MeO-DMT and related compounds (Schultes 1976,1977; Pachter et al. 1959). The snuff acts rapidly and violently. Effects include excitement, numbness of the limbs, twitching of facial muscles, nausea, hallucinations and finally a deep sleep; macroscopia is frequent and enters into Waika beliefs about the spirits resident in the drug. These seeds are sold as ornaments and the information is given purely for informational purposes. It is worth noting extraction of DMT is highly illegal in most countries; for more information please refer to the Anadenanthera (yopo) Vault or www.entheology.org.
